I'm On My Way
Happy Saturday! I have some very exciting news I want to share with you! I have been hoping I would be able to tell you this, but I didn't want to say anything until the time was right.
Back in December, I applied to my dream school in New York City. I have been plotting and planning and hoping to move to the city for years, but I never felt ready. This past year, I have proven to myself that I am more than ready. So, I took the first step and applied to the school of my dreams. After months of emailing back and forth with an admissions adviser, sending in various papers, and a phone interview, yesterday I received the coveted acceptance letter from Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, better know as LIM College!
I am so thrilled! I was so nervous that it wouldn't get in, but I have the letter and I am on my way! I don't want to rush through Spring and Summer, but I cannot wait until August. I just keep imagining walking through the doors of my new school, strolling the streets of the city to get to class, and spending beautiful, sunny days reading books in the Great Lawn of Central Park. I don't think I have fully registered that what I have wanted so badly and for so long is mine. I have my golden ticket in New York City! I cannot wait to see what is in store for me in the big city, and knowing I will be settling in, for what I hope to be many years, is just a few short months away gives me butterflies.
I know this is cliche, but sometimes cliche say it best. Never give up on your dreams. Hard work will get you very far. There is no better time than right now. If you have a dream you have put off or abandoned for whatever reason, I hope this motivates and inspires you to start dreaming again. If you put your mind to it, anything is possible.
