Holiday Gift Guide: Erie Small Businesses

Small Business Saturday might be my favorite day to shop. There is nothing better than meeting new local vendors and engaging with community members. This year, Erie really stepped it up and had not one, not two, but three amazing pop-up markets. Each location was within walking distance of each other in the downtown area. The energy was electric at each pop-up market and everyone was in high spirits!

At 10am, my friend Alex picked me up. We made our way downtown with her mom and Ally. The four of us love to shop, and we were so excited to support local businesses. Our first stop was the Cashier's House, a historic Greek Revival-style home on State Street. The history of this building is quite interesting. After stopping at each vendor table in the Cashier's House and buying so many great items, we walked up a few blocks to the Boston Store. Inside the main lobby were over a dozen vendors! Our final stop was Perry Square, where vendors were set up in cute little white sheds.

I was able to check a few people off my Christmas list yesterday, and I know everyone will love their gifts. Here are some of my favorite vendors from Small Business Saturday to help with your holiday shopping:

Rope & Bloom Macramé. This artisan makes the most beautiful macrame designs that range from keychains to large wall decor. I have bought a few items from her in the past and the quality is incredible!

Save America Prints. This is a new-to-me local vendor. Curtis makes the most unique and interesting national park prints. If you are into a groovy and retro style, you must check him out!

Piquant. Speaking of groovy, Piquant makes super fun jewelry! I bought an adorable pair of earrings as a gift, but I can't stop thinking about a pair I might need for myself.

North Coast Pennants. Before we go our shopping on, we fueled up on caffeine at Ember & Forge. While waiting for my chai latte, I fell in love with the colorful pennants hanging in the coffee shop. The craftsmanship is impeccable.

She Vintage. I love thrifting and I love vintage pieces. The She Vintage pop-up was amazing. She had some beautiful pieces and an entire rack of sparkly goodness!

Megan Merz. This illustrator is so talented! I love her artwork that focuses on flora, fauna, and fantasy. She had a variety of prints and canvas pieces. I may have picked up a little something for myself.

I had such a great time on Saturday and am so thankful for all of the wonderful local artists and businesses we have in Erie. I hope to visit more local pop-ups this season to do all my holiday shopping. Check out my post from last year for even more wonderful local vendors. Happy shopping!
