What I Read: December 2023

The last five days of 2023 were spent curled up on the couch in my favorite blue tye-dye Cleveland sweatshirt with a cup of HopLeaf green tea and a book. I read three books in December and they were all hits!

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I loved this book from beginning to end. I laughed. I cried. I was inspired. Right after finishing this book, I started the series on Apple TV.  I had high hopes for the show but felt a little letdown. The book provided more insight and connection with the characters than the show. I preferred the book to the series adaption.

The Perfect Son by Freida McFadden. Wow! McFadden always keeps me on my toes with her jaw-on-the-floor plot twists. I am officially joining the McFadden Fan Club. Next up, Never Lie. Followed by every book she's penned.

The Bodyguard by Katherine Center. After devouring the page-turning, heart-thumping McFadden book, I wanted a fun, light read. Center delivered with this witty, flirty rom-com that gave Miss Congeniality vibes. Hannah, an Executive Protection Agent (aka bodyguard), is hired to protect a famous male actor. After getting off on the wrong feet, the headstrong bodyguard finds herself falling for the handsome, kind movie star. Not your typical love story. This book is full of surprises!
