What I Read: August 2024

August was a wonderfully busy month filled with traveling and some very good food. I also managed two squeeze in two books.

Bad Summer People by Emma Rosenblum
⭐⭐⭐
I love book that takes place in a small town filled with self-absorbed rich folks. Add secrets, lies, tennis, a sprinkle of murder, and I am a happy reader. This book was an easy read with some very sketchy characters. The first 80 pages were a bit slow for me, but once the story really got going, I could not put this book down.

Things We Hide from the Light by Lucy Score
⭐⭐⭐
This book was hyped up on TikTok and I was a little worried it might be a flop. About halfway through I knew this book was definitely not a flop. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! I will say, the enemies-to-lovers niche is my not favorite. Seeing how much Naomi and Know really hated each other, it was hard for me to go along with the love story. However, as I kept reading and got to know Naomi and Knox, I was hooked. I am currently reading the second book in the series and loving it.
