What I Read: October 2024
October was mostly about cute, witchy reads! I devoured both The Spellshop and Cackle in a week before slowing down to enjoy The Pumpkin Spice Cafe. I finished off the month with a page turning mystery thriller, The Golden Couple.
The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Adorable book with a relatable recluse main character who flees from her burning city back to her home on a quiet island. Here she discovers friendship and the power of magic. An easy, sweet read that I highly recommend.
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book gets a little spicy. The title is cutesy but don't let it fool you. I love a new girl comes to town and falls for the sweet, handsome hometown boy story line and this book was just that! I already ordered The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore and The Christmas Tree Farm!
Cackle by Rachel Harrison
⭐⭐⭐
I enjoyed this book, but it left me wanting something more. Young women moves to a new town and makes friends with a lonely women who turns out to be a witch. Magic powers begin to show themselves, but is Annie ready for this big change in her life?
The Golden Couple by Greer Hendrick
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A trouble marriage, a sketchy marriage counselor, and more lies that anyone can keep up with! Can Marissa and Matthew Bishop save their marriage or is it too late?
