What I Read: April 2025

April showered... so I stayed inside and read books. It was great.

Twisted Love by Ana Huang
⭐⭐
This book made me blush. I was not fully aware of how smutty this book would be. I heard about it all over TikTok, it was on Audible, and I thought... "Why not?" Pro Tip: Don't listen to this book while at work. I didn't love this book, but it was okay. I wouldn't recommend it. (TW: abuse, mental health issues, suicide, degradation. More info here.)

One of Us is Dead by Jeneva Rose
⭐⭐⭐
Fast and fun read. With a few different character POVs and switching between past and presen, this book flowed nicely and kept a good pace. I listened to this book on Libby and loved the Southern accents.

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
⭐⭐⭐
This was the pick for my April book club. It was a cute romcom with a time travel twist. I also love books about books. The main character, Clementine, is a publicist who just moved into her aunt's apartment that was left to her after her aunt's death. Shorly after moving in, Clementine learns this apartment has a little magic in it.

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
⭐⭐⭐
Loved it! Dragons, battles, and romance - what else could a girl ask of a book!

One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
⭐⭐⭐
My bestie bought this book for me as a birthday gift. She is the unofficial queen of fantasy books. Elspeth is a strong but quiet young lady with a dark secret... well, maybe two dark secrets. This book is fast-paced and a serious page turner. Book 2 of this series was ordered as soon as I finished reading the last page of One Dark Window.
