Hooked on the Look: Shoelaces for Belts?
Step aside belts because shoelaces are making a statement. From street style to styled looks online, shoelaces are replacing belts. Fun fact: Shoelace belt were first worn by skateboarders because a thick belt limited movement and jabbed them in the gut when doing flips and tricks. Shoelaces also showed up on the runway a few years back holding up sleek trousers or tied around a blazer. Today, they are also worn by girls simply for fashion. I picked up a white pair of shoelaces to style with jeans and a simple tee. I also saw a girl walking around rocking black jeans with a black top and a white shoelace as a belt. The white really popped and created a cool, edgy look.
