Three Things I Want to Learn Before I'm 30

There have been a slew of friends and family member birthdays the past few weeks which has resulted in me having slight age crisis. In March 2019, I will be 30. Three. Zero. I am having a hard time coming to terms with this. Thank goodness I still have about 8 months until the dirty thirty makes it debut. Since the big 3-0 has been on my mind, it has really got me thinking about all the things I want to learn. I don't want to overwhelm myself, so I picked my top three.

1. Take piano lessons (again). When I was about 10, I took weekly piano lessons. Sadly, I did not take it very seriously and almost never practiced. Looking back, I really wish I had taken the time to practice and develop that skill. I have been thinking about taking up piano for a few months. I finally acted upon this and asked one of my dear friends who a music teacher if she could give me some lessons. She has graciously fit me into her schedule, and  I am so excited to take my first lesson this evening!

2. Learn new languages. About a year ago, I picked up a few French books with the intention of learning the language. The first few weeks I was diligent about learning and then life happened and things just got busy and I didn't make time for it. I have downloaded Duolingo (again) and want to find some activity books to help me learn as well. I am a very hands-on and visual learner so I believe those tools will really help me. Along with learning French, I also want to learn sign language. I am hoping to find some helpful lessons on YouTube or possibly an online course.

3. Take a graphic design course. I have some of the basics of Photoshop down, but I would love to up my game. I use Adobe Photoshop for work to edit photos, but to be able to contribute further would be wonderful. I still need to do some more research, but I am thinking of signing up for a course at a local university in the fall.
