What I Read: June 2023

June was a very busy month and I didn't make reading a priority. The last week of June was very rainy and things slowed down a bit so I made it my mission to finish Happy Place (which I may or may not have started in April).

Happy Place by Emily Henry

I bought this book on release day from my favorite local bookstore, Werner Books. I had been waiting for months for Emily Henry's newest romance and I am sad to say I was a little disappointed. When reading this book I did love the witty banter between Harriet and her friends. The way the conversations flowed with jokes and funny remarks reminded me of my friends. The banter was great, but for me, this book was a slow burn. It was a very easy read but not much excitement, which is not a bad thing but not great either. Happy Place is a great book, but it was just a little too cheesy for me.

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?
