The 2011 AMAs: What They Wore
The day following any type of award show I love to hit up Yahoo OMG to scoop out what the celebs wore! Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to watch the AMAs yet (thank goodness for DVR!), but that will not stop me from critiquing the outfits! Here are some of my favs!
Taylor Swift looked stunning and glamorous, as usual. I love the floor-length gold sequin gown. The cut of the dress of beautiful and simple. I like how she kept her hair and jewelry simple. The sleek ponytail makes the dress the focal point, and the green pop of color from the earrings is a great color against her skin tone.
I love Julie Bowen's ("Modern Family") dress! I think it could be because this is the type of dress I am looking for to wear on New Year's. I love the length, the long sleeves, the stripes, and, of course, all of the sparkles. But overall, I think this dress was a little casual for the award show. I feel like she's going to the club, not the AMAs.
Selena Gomez's outfit still has me undecided. I think her hair and makeup are beautiful, but I don't think I love the dress. Something about it makes her look unproportional. I think it's the deep v-neck and the low fabric knot. I'm also not a fan of the color. Sorry Selena, this outfit just didn't do it for me.
I love the color and detail on this silver dress donned by Heidi Klum. It's very unique and flattering. My only issue is that you can see her underwear or bodysuit through the cutouts. I would have preferred to see a black slip under the dress instead to class it up a bit. I mean, she has like 3 kids. Cover yourself up, Heidi!
Matthew Morrison looks great in his all-black ensemble. I like how he isn't wearing the traditional button-down shirt, but stills looks classy with an unbuttoned collar. Such a good looking man.
Ohh, Joe Jonas. I love the facial scruff, hate the see-through t-shirt. I love the detail on the lapel on his blazer, and the deep grey color of his pants are a nice step away from black. I think he looks good, but I just can't forgive him for the shirt. Why? It's just weird.

ReplyDeleteTaylor looked pretty, but I feel she wears the same thing to every event. Shiny, strapless, usually floor-length. She knows what works for her, but I wish she'd mix it up sometimes.
I don't know what the hell Selena is wearing. Love the color, everything else confuses me.
