Patriotic Fruit Cake

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. I had a very relaxed few days. On Memorial Day, my dad hosted a little cookout. We had  burgers and Italian sausage. My dad made is crowd favorite taco salad, and we spent the day basking in the sun. When it comes to food events, I love making the desserts. Since we would be indulging in some heavier food items, I wanted something light and sweet. Angel Food Cake jumped to mind right away followed by fresh strawberries. I cut a few corners and picked up some store bough Angel Food Cake that was on sale at a local grocery store. With that step out of the way, this delicious and show stopping fruit cake only took about 20 minutes. This cake is not only super tasty, but perfect for Memorial Day and the 4th of July. It's quite a patriotic cake with it's bright red and blue berries.
