Thrift Store Finds: All Dressed Up for Summer
I am ready for the fall. I am ready for jeans and layers and sweaters. The weather, on the other hand, has not gotten the memo. Just yesterday it was 85 degrees. Not sweater weather, but definitely still dress weather. I have been living in my dresses all summer. I have rotated through all the dresses on my rack quite a few times and was starting to get a bit uninspired. The perfect solution to that is a trip to Salvation Army.
Saturday afternoon I went shopping with my girl Alex. She is always down for some thrifting. I ended up finding two dresses and a Zara skirt for fall/winter.
The delicate floral print of this J.Crew Mercantile dress immediately caught my eye. It fits like a glove and was $7.99. The material is smooth and has a cream lining all throughout. The lining makes the dress a bit thicker, perfect for a fall look with a denim jacket, but can easily be worn now as well.
I love the cobalt blue. It's such a statement color. I love this silhouette and flowy material. A great dress for date night with a pair of heels and a clutch. This dress was $3.99. I have already worn the blue dress on Sunday to run errands. I paired it with my brown slip-on sandals and a tan tote bag. The material is so light and breathable. I am excited to wear it again, maybe a bit more dressed up.
Salvation Army is very hit or miss. I don't always find such great pieces, but when I do it's like finding treasure.
Fun fact, as I was writing this post I discovered today is National Secondhand Wardrobe Day! How fitting is that?!
