Day Trip Adventures: An Afternoon in Jamestown, NY

I gave B a gift card for the National Comedy Museum in Jamestown, NY for Christmas 2019. Over a year and a half later, we finally got to visit the National Comedy Museum and the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum! It was such a fun afternoon and the perfect distance for a day trip from Erie, PA.

Thanks to Hulu, we have been on an I Love Lucy binge, so many of the best episodes were fresh in our minds. We decided to visit the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum first. Before we even got to the museum, we saw two murals depicting our favorite episodes: "Job Switching" and "Lucy Does a Commercial." Just a block from the murals we stumbled upon, what I am calling, alleyway art galleries. It was pretty incredible to see art all around the streets of Jamestown.

Once inside the museum, there was so much to see! Every wall had something special. From marked-up scripts to letters the cast and crew wrote each other, we got lost in the 1950s nostalgia.  My favorite part of the museum was the recreation of the sets and original outfits from the I Love Lucy show. Of course, the NYC apartment was featured, as well as the California apartment.

After devouring all things Lucy and Desi, we walked a few blocks over to the National Comedy Museum. This place is unreal! The whole experience is interactive and catered to your comedic taste. I barely took any photos since we were so enthralled by funny clips of our favorite comedians. I did manage to snap a few photos before entering the whirlwind of comedy the center has to offer.

If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend visiting both the museum and comedy center. It was such a fun day!
