What I Read: June 2022

June flew by! Between a busy work and social schedule, I read two books this month.

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle. I heard mixed reviews on this book before I started it, but I went in with an open mind. I liked the characters and always love a book set in NYC. Dannie is a career-focused woman who has her life figured out... or so she thinks. The story was a bit sad, but it was a good book overall.

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager. I was so excited about this book! I preordered it months ago. When it arrived at my house on June 21, I started reading it immediately. This book is your typical who dunnit... but then there was a major twist. A paranormal twist. The last 100 pages were a bit unexpected. The main character, Casey, was not very likable. She is a nosy neighbor with a drinking problem. I was hoping for a bit more excitement from this summer thriller.
