Erie Local Spotlight: Shark Week Edition

The best week of the year begins in a few hours. Shark Week is my Christmas. I make cupcakes with little shark gummies on top. I craft cute little blue drinks. Sometimes shark decorations come into play. This year I bought shark gummies from Lake Erie Candy Company. I also plan to spread the sharky love to my office with Sharkfetti cupcakes. This afternoon while patiently waiting for Shark Week to begin, I was scrolling Instagram and was so happy to discover a few local businesses jumping on the Shark Week bandwagon! 

Icing on the Lake makes one of the best cupcakes. This local bakery no longer has a storefront, but something much more fun... an ATM: Automated Treat Machine. This vending machine of tasty treats is refilled each day with macarons, cake pops, cheesecake, and more. For Shark Week, they created a themed cupcake box. I may need to run to the ATM on my lunch hour because that Shark Bait cupcake is calling my name.

The Bean Coffee House in North East created a Shark Bite Lotus made with blue and red raspberry topped with delicious gummy sharks. I've never tried a lotus drink, but in honor of Shark Week I'll give it a try. Plus anything with gummies is good in my book.

Another delicious beverage being served up for Shark Week is in Downtown Erie at Voodoo Brewery. The Great White Hype is made with VBC Spirits vodka with strawberry, lemon, watermelon, dragonfruit, and gummy sharks. This fruity drink screams summer and I need to try one this week!
