What I Read: July 2024

The reading streak continued into July but at a slower pace. I read two books, both were enjoyable.

The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
⭐⭐⭐
This felt like a coming-of-age story about a young girl going through her first breakup while dealing with the heartbreak of her sister's untimely death. The story follows Meredith as she summers in Martha's Vineyard with her extended family. This summer is especially painful as Meredith reminisces memories of her sister. Weddings, a family game, restoring friendships and new love all come about in this heartfelt story.

Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
⭐⭐⭐
This book was heavily hyped up on TikTok, but I am happy to report it lived up the hype. The enemies to lovers trope was quite intense and a little too dramatic for my taste. but beyond that I enjoyed getting to know Naomi and her daughter. I also loved the small-town vibes and close knit community in Knockemout, Virginia. I already have the second and third book saved to my Kindle.
