August 2021 Favorites

Happy September! It's my favorite month of the year! I am so so happy September is here, but before I move on too quickly here's a look back at all the wonderful things from August.

August saw many day trips. In early August, B and I spent the day in Jamestown exploring the comedy center and mural hunting. In late August, my bestie and I wandered all over Cleveland shopping, eating, and being mesmerized by sharks!

Speaking of besties, Katie came to visit in August. Werspent the weekend sipping on wine and picking flowers. Some of our most favorite activities.

A last-minute trip to a bridal shop yielded the most wonderful results. On August 21, I found THE dress. It was just me, my fashion guru girl Alex, and an amazing wedding consultant. The consultant was so sweet and made the experience relaxing and fun. That day holds such a special place in my memory. 

The rain in August was kind of a bummer, especially since it seemed to hinder our garden quite a bit. But the in past few weeks, the squash and zucchini have been growing like crazy. We even had 3 perfect jalapenos. Over Labor Day weekend, we made the most delicious roasted zucchini.

Trying new recipes was a popular hobby in August. I have been a subscriber of Bon Appetit magazine for about a year. After browsing a dozen issues, I finally found a recipe that inspired me. In fact, I made 3 recipes in one week! I even started a makeshift recipe book with the pages I tore out of the magazines. They now live in sheet protectors in a mini binder so I can find them in a pinch. Yes, I said sheet protectors. 

August was a month well spent and September is already off to a wonderful start!
