Tribal Queen

After thinking about going to Forever 21 for about two weeks now, I finally decided to take some action yesterday. I was on a mission to find dresses. Forever 21 has so many bright, fun colors and patterns for Summer right now, it was so easy to find dresses, but very difficult not to pick up the beautiful tops as well. But I was very self-controlled. I told my self that if I didn't find at least two or three dresses, then I could look at tops or other items. All in all, I probably tried on about 2o dresses. They were all so cute, but some didn't fit right or didn't compliment me, so I quickly narrowed it down to three. I only ended up purchasing two. The third dress was a maxi, and although it fit well and I loved the pattern and style, it just didn't look right. But the two dresses I did get, I am in love with. They both have a tribal feel to them. The patterns are so unique and fun.

I adore this dress. I love the unique pattern and the color combination. It feels very tribal to me. I would definitely pair this dress with a great pair of gladiator sandals and a gold cuff. Maybe even push the envelope a bit and wear a feather or two in my hair. What do you think of that new trend? I'm undecided, but I will try anything once.

There is a zipper in the front which adds a bit of a modern touch, and it is cinched at the waist that adds shape and flatters my body wonderfully.

Another reason I love this dress is the lace black detail on the back. It adds a subtle sultriness that can take this dress from day to night. During the day I would pair this with a black sweater or blazer and either gladiator sandals or flats. At night I would just take the blazer off and swap my flats for my favorite nude pumps.

{Strapless Patch Print Dress, $19.80}

I love this dress too! Its a mix of bohemian and tribal all in one. To amp up the Tribal feel, I want to find a delicate, gold bib necklace. Because this dress is strapless, a simple bib necklace would be the perfect accessory.

It buttons all the way down the front and the material is so soft and flowy. I wore it to my girlfriend's apartment last night, where we played Catch Phrase and drank margaritas, and everyone loved it.

{UK French Connection, Was $48, On Sale for $24.99}

Unfortunately, this dress does not photograph well on a hanger, but trust me it is gorgeous! I found it at Sears, of all places! I swear that store does not get enough credit. They have tons of great brands. This dress is from UK French Connection and I loved everything from this line. I will definitely be buying more pieces from them. The sweetest woman cashed me out and said it reminded her of something Kate Middleton would wear and she is so right. This dress is so chic and classy, and very Kate Middleton. This dress is going to be great for work, which is the main reason I bought it, but when I start to interview for other jobs and internships, this dress will be perfect!

{Gladiator Sandals, $7.50}

This price is unbeatable. I found these brown gladiators at Forever 21. I recently bought a great pair of black gladiator sandals from Cole Haan, and I almost bought the same pair in a woodbury color as well but decided to look for a different style to change it up. These are so comfortable and go great with the patch print dress!

What do you think of the tribal-inspired prints? Which dress is your favorite? Have you found any great summer pieces at Forever 21 lately?

  1. Love the strapless dress!!! Forever 21 is one of my favorite stores, HOWEVER, I really dislike shopping in the store! I feel like an anxiety attack is about to happen! I choose online over in store :)
