I Have Found True Love

I did it! I finally purchased the Urban Decay Naked Palette and I am in love! I cannot say enough great things about this palette. I bought this palette about a week ago and I have used it every day since then. The colors are amazing and perfect for me. I love nudes, neutrals and browns. My favorite thing about having this palette is that you can create so many different looks and all the colors and shades you need are all in one place. Another great feature about these eye shadows is that some are matte, some are shimmery and some are incredibly shimmery. I love that there is a mixture. Oh, and how could I forget to mention the brush! One of the best brushes I have ever used. So soft.

I love all of the colors, but the ones I have used the most are Virgin and/or Sin as a base color, Sidecar or Buck in my crease, and Halfbaked, Smog, or Darkhorse in the outer corner of my lid. On most days, I only use two, maybe three, colors for a subtle day look, but if I'm going out at night I will combine a few shadows for a more dramatic look. I will try to take some pictures the next time I get all dolled up. :)
I do have one little problem with this palette and hopefully, you guys can help me out. After a few hours, maybe halfway through the day, I usually have to reapply some more eyeshadow because it has worn away. I always use the Urban Decay Primer Potion before applying any shadow, but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Do you have any pointers or tricks I could try? I love this palette and this small problem won't deter me from using it or suggesting it to other people, but it is a bit of an annoyance seeing as it was a pretty penny. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Hope you guys enjoyed this post and if you have the Naked palette I would love to hear your thoughts!

  1. Congrats on finally getting the Naked Palette, I am very attached to my own now that I have had it for a few months, and trust me, this baby will last you a long, long time and it is super convenient to have all your go-to neutrals and a few smokey options in one place.

If the Eyeshadow Primer Potion isn't working for you, I suggest trying another Eyeshadow Primer, one focused more for oily lids because usually it isn't the actual shadows that are the problem, usually it has something to do with how oily your lids are naturally. Also make sure with the Primer Potion you are just putting a swipe on your lid and then blending the primer down to your lashline and up to the browbone, you really don't need much.

    Hope This Helps!

  2. Oh yes, I am so attached to my palette I treat it like my child! That helps a lot! Thank you so much for the pointer!:) I def have oily-ish lids, so that is probably the problem! Do you have any eyeshadow primer suggestions? I just saw a NYX one the other day? Is that any good?

  3. I always spray my face with setting spray and that tends to help along with the primer. Another product by UD!

I absolutely love Half Baked, it's easily my favorite color in the bunch - I wear it alone on simple days just for a nice pop of color.

  4. Yay for getting Naked! I, too have used mine every day since I got it!

I use the primer that came with it, but I've noticed the shadows are creasing after a few hours. When I use the same UD primer potion but in 'Sin' nothing creases. Maybe it's the formula? This is my first time using the original primer and I think I'm going to switch back to 'Sin'.

Half Baked and Virgin are my favorites. Half Baked is the real reason I got the Naked palette instead of the cheaper Natural palette from Too Faced.

  5. Oooh- this is so pretty! This just might have to go on my list of products to try! The only primer I have tried was E.L.F from Target and I was surprised by how much I liked it since it was so cheap.
