Luscious Lips

I have a new addiction. Lipstick. Now, that I am getting older, I feel as though I need to move up the ladder from lip glosses to the more mature and professional lip product, better known as lipstick. Don't get me wrong, I love my lip glosses. They go on smoothly, keep my lips moisturized, and give my lips a subtle shine. But I would like to start a small lipstick collection for when I start looking for... dun dun dun... a real job. I think lipsticks are very chic and add that touch of color without the sparkle and shine that most lip glosses provide. I found the two lovely colors below and have been testing them out at work and when going out to dinner or somewhere that I can dress up a little more than usual.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Gentlemen prefer pink & Coralberry

The top swatch is Coralberry and the bottom is Gentlemen Prefer Pink

I picked up both of these lipsticks at my local grocery store on sale for $5.99, originally $7.99. I love love love the Coralberry for summer! It is a gorgeous color and I have found myself reaching for that lipstick more than Gentlemen Prefer Pink (which I bought not only for the bubblegum pink color but also for the name!).
What are your thoughts on lipstick versus lip gloss? What do you prefer to wear, and what are some of your favorite brands for both lip gloss and lipstick?

  1. i agree with you on the idea of using lipstick now that i'm older. i have the same brand of lip color but not the actual colors you have...those are both great, though, may need to try them out soon!

  3. I'm quite young but I prefer lipstick, I like just dabbing it giving my lips not to much but a nice fresh colour! I definately like the coralberry shade you picked out, love corals but dont have the guts to wear coral lipsticks full on!

  4. i am so there with the lipsticks i have bought like 4 and a friend gave me a couple of shades that didn't fit her...so since im in transition i put lipstick under with a swipe of gloss lightly over. PERFECT! lol
