Mornings with Monet

On Sunday morning, my friend and I met up for coffee before heading over to Albright Knox to view the Impressionist exhibit. The exhibit is entitled Monet and the Impressionist Revolution, and it features works of art from artists Claude Monet,  Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Eugène Boudin, Gustave Caillebotte , Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot, Pissarro, Renoir, and Sisley, just to name a few. There were also pieces by post-Impressionist masters such as Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Georges Seurat, and Vincent van Gogh. The collection was beautiful. There were many works from Monet I have never seen before. My favorite was Les Glacons (The Ice Floes).
Aside from the exhibit, the Albright Knox Art Gallery has an incredible permanent collection. Many of the photos below show those works. It was such a great way to spend the morning. One thing I missed about New York City was all the amazing museums, but Buffalo has a pretty wonderful collection and I hear they are hoping to expand. I am looking forward to visiting the gallery more often and exploring future exhibits.
