DIY: Memory Jar

For Christmas, one of my dear friends made me a memory jar. It was such a thoughtful idea and a fun way to document all of our memories. Although my brothers and I are older now, my mother loves nothing more than a handmade card and gift. When I was thinking of gifts to give my mom for Mother's Day, I saw my memory jar and knew my mom would love one as well. This DIY is simple, affordable, and can be customized towards your mother or loved one.

Here's What You'll Need:
~ Jar with lid
~ Colorful paper
~Ribbon and/or twine
~Hot Glue Gun
~Fabric or paint
~Scissors
~ Pens

I started out by gluing the burlap around the jar. You could also paint the jar. I then added thin pink ribbon for a little extra touch. To make the envelope to hold the extra slips of paper, I just cut and folded a colorful piece of craft paper to the desired size and lopped it on to the twine. This entire project took about a half hour and all the supplies were less than $10. This is a great gift for mom or anyone in your life. I already added some of my favorite moments with my mother and am looking forward to adding more on Mother's Day and beyond.
