Monthly Favorites: September 2023

September came and went in a whirlwind! I spent a lot of time outdoors in wine country, strolling Presque Isle with Perry, baking fall recipes, and diving into TikTok!

Presque Isle State Park is truly a magical place. On the last day of summer, Erie had a heat wave so Perry and I took a walk around the park. We explored the bay (above) and even went for a little swim at Beach 3. 

At work, things have been very busy, but very fun! I spent some time in Lake Erie Wine Country gathering content and interviewing winemakers. While learning all about viticulture, I was able to walk through vineyards and sample locally-made wine. 

I am proud to report that I waited until the first day of fall to bake any pumpkin recipes. So far I've made a few fall recipes, including two loaves of pumpkin bread. My garden is overflowing with butternut squash. I haven't worked with butternut squash much, but I found this amazing Creamy Roasted Garlic Butternut Squash Pasta recipe. I made this for dinner the other night and it was a huge hit!
