Christmas Magic 2022

My favorite Christmas memory is helping my mom create a Christmas village with intricately detailed ceramic houses and a beautiful glass tree with multicolored lights in the center of the scene. When I look back on this memory, I always picture the same setting. Outside the snow is gently falling. Inside Bing Crosby's White Christmas is on the record player. The glow of the Christmas tree is filling the room with light. Piece by piece a beautiful Christmas village appears. True holiday magic.

When I found two small ceramic houses packed with our Christmas décor, I set them on our bar cart to add a little holiday cheer among wine bottles and glasses. Each time I would pass by the little scene, childhood memories would flash in my mind. Each time this occurred, the more I thought about recreating a Christmas village of my own.

How it started...

How it's going.

Like most instances, thrift stores were first place I decided to look for the ceramic houses. This bright idea was inspired by Alex, who ended up finding a beautiful secondhand white Christmas village for a steal from Cha Cha's. That was the first place I looked and I found two beautiful pieces to add to my village. I also scoured Green Scene and The Thrifty Shopper. My search paid off and I ending up adding 5 pieces to my collection. This year the snowy scene was displayed on our bar cart. It was a little cramped, but I made it work. Next year, I would love to add more houses, trees, and maybe some figurines. I will also need to find a new location. I just love my little village and I am so excited to keep this Christmas village tradition going.
