Erie Local Spotlight: Herb & Honey Bakery

I love a fresh loaf of bread for a towering sandwich, cinnamon rolls on a Saturday morning, and pepperoni balls on Sunday afternoon during a football game. I also love having a local place where I can get all three items in one stop.

A few weeks ago I stepped inside Urbanicks for the first time. This eastside neighborhood market has a great selection of produce and meat and is also home to Herb & Honey Bakery. Herb & Honey has some of the best-baked goods in town. The best part - they are just a few blocks from my house.

I heard H&H had great cinnamon rolls, but I was unprepared for this level of amazing. I mean, take a look at the generous cream cheese frosting. We warmed these up in the air fryer for a few minutes and they were the perfect fresh out of the oven gooey-ness. Their OG cinnamon roll is my favorite sweet treat. I also tried their peach cinnamon rolls and they were very delicious, but the moisture from the peach made the cinnamon roll a little too wet for my liking. I am hoping they will dabble in a pumpkin cinnamon roll. I am ready to dive into all things pumpkin.

Herb & Honey makes incredible breads as well. I am a big fan of their French and Sourdough loaves. The French loaf was perfect for sandwiches. We also toasted a few pieces and drizzled them with olive oil to lap up the sauce from a delicious pasta dinner.

Other items we have tried are their version of the Erie staple, the Pepperoni Ball. It was the best pep ball I've had since moving to Erie four years ago. The dough is light, fluffy, and packed with cheese and pepperoni. The pretzel balls are a must-try if you like salty. The buffalo cheddar pretzel ball had me ready for fall weeks ago. These would be so good to munch on during a Buffalo Bills game. Some kind of fresh dill dip would just take the cake.

Herb & Honey is open on Fridays and Saturdays. You can order ahead of time to pick up on the weekend or just stop in. But try to get there early because they will sell out!
