Monthly Favorites: July 2023

July was filled with friends, days trips, and countless sunsets on the beach.

At the beginning of the month, MJ came to town and we did all the things! Each day was jammed packed. I showed her all around Erie and a bit of Pittsburgh for a day trip. The main reason for visiting Pittsburgh was to see the Flowers Meet Fashion: Inspired by Billy Porter at Phipps Conservatory. This exhibit was stunning. Flowers + Fashion = My Perfect Combo. Myself, MJ, and Michelle spent the day exploring book shops, stopping to smell the flowers, and stumbling upon some pretty cool shops in the Lawrenceville area. Toward the end of the month, my bestie from Buffalo, Katie, spent the weekend. We went boating, played mini golf, listened to live music, and caught up.

My personal goal for this summer was to spend time in Presque Isle State Park at least once a week. This beautiful National Natural Landmark is a peninsula that curves into Lake Erie. Here you can swim, surf, bike, hike, kayak, etc. The lake side of the peninsula offers seven miles of sandy beaches and within the park are 13.5 miles of biking and walking trails. It is also the best spot to catch the world's 3rd best sunset. I definitely achieved my goal and some weeks would visit the park twice. Presque Isle is such a wonderful attraction that is just 20 minutes from my house. I am so glad I took advantage of the beaches, kayak rentals, and events. I even took Perry kayaking and he loved it! I cannot wait to take him again. PISP offers something for everyone, even your dogs!

July was such a fulfilling month of friendship, enjoying nature, and appreciating all Erie has to offer.
