Top 5 Summer Bucket List Activities for 2019

It's officially summer! The weather this weekend was an absolute perfect to kick off to summer. I spent Saturday relaxing, and Sunday I walked around Dobbins Landing watching a paddle board race and sipping some very strong drinks at Woody's. And that was just the first two days of summer! I am so excited to spend the rest of the summer exploring what Erie has to offer. Here are my top 5 to-dos on my summer bucket list.

1. The Beaches at Presque Isle State Park. I am so lucky to live 10 minutes from Presque Isle. I have walked around the Perry Monument and taken in the lake views, but I have yet to spend a whole day in the sun with sandy feet and a good book. I found this super helpful page on Go Erie about the many beaches at Presque Isle. The page includes info on parking, amenities, and if life guards are on duty.

2. Outdoor Concerts. Fair warning, Presque Isle is going to be a recurring theme in this post. Erie really knows how to utilize their hot spots. Every Wednesday, Presque Isle offers free concerts on the beach! How amazing is that? The UMPC Sunset Music Series will be going on for just three more weeks, so I need to check this off my bucket list pretty soon.

3. Scenic Tours. Fun fact, I am a pisces. This means I love the water. Being around water, in water, on water. The little fish in me has been thinking about going on a boat tour since February. Presque Isle Boat Tours has two locations they depart from: Presque Isle and Dobbin's Landing. The 4th of July Fireworks Cruise sounds incredible!

4. Backyard Oasis. Our home has the cutest little fenced in backyard. Right now, we have a grill in the backyard and... that's about it. My wonderful father just called me the other day and offered some of his extra outdoor chairs and a pop up tent that will provide some shade. I am looking forward to setting up the yard and drinking coffee outside on the weekends. I have a few ideas for an oasis design. Of course, it includes hanging lights and lots of potted flowers.

5. Drive In. No Summer is complete without at least one trip to the drive in. I was so happy when I found out Sunset Drive In is in the next town over. There are a few good movies coming out this summer, so multiple trips may be in order. 47 Meters Down Uncaged?! Yes, please!
