Date Night in Pittsburgh

Erie, PA is just a few hours from three great cities: Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. Being so close to these cities means day trips and little weekend getaways. That is precisely what B and I did this past September. On a sunny Saturday afternoon, we hit the I-79 S for Pittsburgh to enjoy an evening of baseball.

Once we got to Pittsburgh, we parked and wandered around North Shore Drive looking for a bite to eat. Unknowingly, there was also a country concert that night and downtown was packed! We opted to head into the stadium for food and drinks. PNC Park is beautiful and located right on the water.

I do try to be prepared so while waiting in line to enter the park, I did some research on PNC Park's food scene. This article from Visit Pittsburgh offered great insight into where to eat at the stadium. Luckily, our seats happened to be near some great food vendors. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich from Chicken on the Hill. It was very tasty!

Our seats were fantastic. Front row right behind 2nd plate where we could see everything and had lots of leg room.

Aaron Judge played that night and was positioned right in front of our seats. Great planning on B's part. A few times during the game, he interacted with fans who asked what inning it was or how many outs there were. It was a very cool experience and to top it off, the Yankees crushed the Pirates 6-3 with Stanton and Cabera each hitting a home run. The whole evening was a home run and I can't wait to explore more of Pittsburgh.
