Four Books I Read in One Sitting

I was 13 the first time I ever read a book cover to cover in one sitting. I had been sent to my room as punishment for who knows what. I could be a sassy little thing as a teen. With nothing to do, I grabbed a book and started reading. I was whisked away to the bubbling spring and golden fields behind Winnie's house. The next thing I knew I was finishing the last line of Tuck Everlasting

It is scarce nowadays to find the time to read a book in one sitting, and even more challenging to find a book that captures my attention so intensely, but there have been a few over the years. Four books to be exact.

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit. Winnie is walking through the woods behind her family's home when she stumbles upon a young boy and a freshwater spring. If you drink from this spring, you will live forever. Winnie must decide her fate: to live forever or age and grow older.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I started this book at 5 p.m. on a Tuesday and finished at 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. I could not put this book down. Trigger warning: this book contains abusive material. It was heartwarming, heartbreaking, and heroic. Brave and bold.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I loved this book! I read it in one day. Picked it up at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and finished it around midnight. It read like a documentary. Each character has their own version or side of the story. It takes place in the 70s and explores the rise to stardom of a rock and roll band.

Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. I sat down to start this book at 3 p.m. on a Friday and by 9 p.m. I had finished it. I could not put it down. The most intriguing parts were the drawings scattered throughout the story. The last quarter of the book was filled with so many twists and turns! If you read one spooky book this season, make sure it is Hidden Pictures
