Weekend Getaway: Ellicottville Escape

On Saturday morning, I packed up my chunky sweaters, hopped in the car, and set my Google Maps for Ellicottville, NY. Over the weekend was Ellicottville's annual Fall Festival and I was meeting some friends from Buffalo for a little weekend getaway.

I arrived at the Airbnb around noon to find friends gathered around the kitchen island making spiked apple cider. It had been months since I'd seen some of the girls so we had a lot to catch up on.

Late afternoon, we bundled up and ventured out to explore the Fall Festival. We made a quick pit stop at Holimont to ride the free chairlift. It was chilly at the top of the hill, but the view was gorgeous. These photos do not do the scenery justice. The colors were so vibrant and beautiful.

Peep the rainbow to the right of the chairlift. There was a light mist as we came down the hill and I caught a snippet of a rainbow.

From Holimont, we ordered an Uber to take us to Downtown Ellicottville. We browsed some of the outdoor vendors and grabbed fried pickles to snack on. Shortly after arriving, the rain was coming down a bit harder so we booked it to Ellicottville Brewing for their famous Blueberrry wheat beer. The place was packed, but luckily we were able to find a corner to hang out and people-watch.

After being drenched in the rain from our excursion downtown, we made it back to the Airbnb. We made pizzas, mixed some drinks, and pulled out the board games. The Airbnb we stayed in was charming and cozy. I loved this Buffalo art that was hanging in the kitchen.

Selena whipped up this gorgeous and tasty charcuterie board. We opened some wine, played games, listened to music, and enjoyed each other's company for the remainder of the night.

It was a short and sweet weekend getaway, full of fall fun. The chairlift was by far the best activity. I cannot get over the view and the colors of the rolling hills.
